I'm on the Etsy's Front Page

I'm so very exited-my forest pixie top (the one I was talking about in my last post) MADE it to the front page of ETSY!!!

It is such a honor and a HUGE exposure for my PettiBear shop

Within an hour I got 1454 !!! page views 20 shop hearts 1001 views of the pixie top which now has total of 32 hearts- 19 of them are new :)

What can be more exiting then this?

Well, having your first born is DEF way more exiting,but here we are talking business not love...

Sneak Peek -Antique Rose Bib Necklace

The base of the bib is made of recycled leather,which is then decorated with satin flowers in gorgeous hues of antique rose and complimented with recycled bits and pieces

This statement bib will immediately upgrade any simple top and will take it to another level!!!

Sneak Peek -PURE white Roses Statement Necklace

Pure White Roses

I LOVE how this statement necklace turned out!!!

To me it looks so naive and pure yet so very sexy and the most important thing is -it is made from ALL up-cycled/recycled materials

The roses were made of pure silk and satin fabric scraps -leftovers from a Bat-Mizva dress I just finished sewing a few days ago

The blings in the center of the flowers are from Sierra's crafting kit which is no longer exist

Pearls were my mom's-she has NEVER wore these because they are faux

The butterfly charm I got through one of my swaps at swap-bot

Half circle links I cut from an old top and vest I don't wear anymore (that why each is in slightly different size)

3 silver chains were found by my father in law

and so ,NO of the materials were store bought by me but the clasps :)

I'm VERY HAPPY by the results!

Don't throw-Upcycle 3rd project

THERE IS A HOLE IN MY SOUL

(well not in my soul,but in my love t-shirt)

My hubby accidentally spilled an acid on his ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE T-shirt which caused it to crumble at that area :(

Since he LOVEs it so much,I just couldn't throw it to the gutters,so I fixed it :)

This is a really EASY projects that you all can do to your ripped T-shirt

Take a scrap of fabric in the same color (big enough to cover the hole twice )

Fold the fabric in half and cut 2 pieces slightly larger then the original hole

Pin one piece to the front and other directly on top of the hole on reverse (make sure both patches are alight one on top of the other)

Stitch all around

Make some decorative stitches to make it more interesting

Stitch a RED heart in the middle

So easy,and fashionably up-to-date!!!

It's Raining Men

I have been told that Father's day is approaching and we suppose to celebrate the men in our lives ... (good to know,since here in Israel we don't have no Father's day...or Mothers day for that matter-we only have FAMILY day! Though back in Ukraine,we had FEB 23rd which is kind of similar... )

Since it's coming up , the other day ETSY admin has challenged Etsians to curate a treasury east inspired by one of the Storque's post .

I saw the challenge on twitter and had to raise the glove

Who knows, maybe it will end up on the home page...

Don't throw-Upcycle 2nd project

This time is a very practical DON"T THROW-UPCYCLE post.

Today it will be a Recycle +DIY project (isn't it like to kill two birds in one time)

Wait a minute,lets not kill no one , lets

KEEP CALM

R E C Y C L E

All you'll need to make a new dress for your little princess is YOUR old peasant tank top and some NEW elastic...NO real sewing skills are needed!

Just cut two tiny holes in both ends of the gathered panel,insert the elastic,pull tight and sew close

Don't forget to do the same for the back panel too

THATS IT!!!

Now go check your closet for some of your already small on you tank tops and make some new dresses for your little one (sorry,this post is only for mommies with little princesses )

Don't throw-Upcycle

A month ago I had a wonderful opportunity to design two wrap dresses for a lovely French Etsy customer.

After I finished sewing one of the dresses,I had left with some fabric scraps I decided to put to use

I had to patch about 5 pieces of leftover fabric scraps together before I could cut the pattern...

To make the design of the dress more interesting,I patched some roses onto one of the panels (the roses were made of fabric scraps as well- yey for up-cycling! )

And here is the results-

New week and a NEW blog

So I've decided to come to blogging again-I guess I missed it since my last post was written back in 2008!!!

I don't know why I stopped writing,cause I've NEVER stopped creating !!!

Maybe I had a writers block ...Maybe I was caught up by the fast pace of life...Or maybe I just was too lazy to write/upload/share and was saddling by the 140 words twitter has provide me to share with you.

But I'm Back now!!! And I'm here to stay :)
