Movezerb's Art Postcard...My Handmade Altered Frame...and...Silhouette's Weekly Shape Challenge

I've blogged about Movezerb's lovely art a long time ago,back  when I won her giveaway and received an art print and a few beautiful  postcards of my choice from her etsy shop ...
One of them been a "Queen Sugar"- postcard picturing  a little fairy hiding in a cupcake...
It was so charming and absolutely cute ,I had to make a worthy frame for it

So what one does to make a "worthy" frame....?
Matches colours of course...Then spreads some fairy dust on...Glues some complimentary  trinkets  and.... To make things even more festive, bunting is a MUST !!! 
Even more so ,when the illustration itself has a candy garland pictured...so everything is matchy,matchy :)

Now to make a bunting I could have cut triangles by hand...but why should I ,when I have my Silhouette cutter that can make my job much easier AND make it faster and more accurate (I hate cutting by hand as I'm VERY particular about my neat edges :p YES,I know,I'm crazy :D

And so,using Silhouette Banners shape  I quickly whipped out a cute colourful banner with Sheluvi's name written in Hebrew on it (the framed illustration  is hang above her bed after all :)  

Here is the result-LOVE it!

What there is not to love :)

Challenge accepted and completed !

Some new handmade frames for my art postcard collection

The pirate's gospel by movezerb finally got it's new frame with some help from my new friend -the Silhouette cutter machine

This frame was hand painted according to the style of the artwork and then for that extra touch,I added some vinyl trees :)

One more beauty by movezerb the "Critters" - Mini print got a FABULOUS find-an old broken frame my hubby found thrown away near the garbage...which was fixed,matted and decorated with a fuzzy vinyl forest green inner frame and a vinyl tree and flying birds silhouette

And here is a lovely "Seduction" postcard by HidenSeek which was framed in a simple IKEA frame pained in lovely pale blue pearl acrylic paint and when dried I drew some tree picks using water colors to continue the trees pictured in the postcard

The whole forest themed bunch having fun while decorating the wall in Sierra's room

Counting sheep

A few month back in a giveaway thrown by the very talented movezerb ,I had win some fabulous prints from her wonderful shop

Of course I had the freedom to choose which ever print/card I like and these beauties were my choices

Counting sheeps

A few days ago I finally come to make a frame for one of my favorite prints from the bunch -the "Counting sheeps" one ,or as we call it " The Sleep Fairy"
I LOVED making this frame!!!

It was made out of left overs from a wood panels I cut for my silk screen frames.
I already made a couple of frames this way (see my frames for Sabbio's and munieca's artworks) ,but this time I had a little problem...I had only cut outs for 3 1/2 sides of the frame and some small bits and pieces I had to glue together to form the forth panel ...

But,although the frame is all patched out, let me tap on my back while saying this about my own work-the end result turned out to be plain GORGEOUS!!!

I'll let you judge by yourself

*curious about what is written on the little tag that hangs from the twig?
No need to wonder anymore... it simply says in Hebrew "sleep tight,my beauty"
(this lovely framed art postcard is proudly took it's place on the wall above my daughter's bed-that's why we call it the "Sleep Fairy" :)
