Machinarium T-shirt design

Yey!!! It's my 29th Birthday today and I woke up into a sell!!!

Yesterday I created a mock up for an etsy alchemy request customer and won the bid :)
The request was for a Machinarium T-Shirt with Josef and his girlfriend ...
I went ahead and created a line drawing of these cute characters and I so love the result of the illustration that I actually thinking of offering the finished T-shirt design for sale in my shop

Meanwhile,I can show you the mock up of the design only ,but promise to show you the finished product at the end as usual :)

I have a lot of work ahead of me,so I must run...xx

Bob the Builder cake

I don't know if any of you know (well I sure some of you do...) that I use to have a cake decoration business called Tiamat Design-Genesis of the Creation.
I self taught the art of sugar paste through the web and start working with sugar and MMF dough right after Sierra was born and doing it ever since-not as much as I use to, as my main focus is going to my Etsy shops, but anyway, from time to time, I still get an order from my repeated customers .

My FIRST cake for Sierra's Britah (baby girl birth celebration)

This passed weekend I got this exact chance to work with sugar again-I had an order for a
B-Day cake with Bob the Builder theme and I can prove it-I still have blue fingertips to go along with me for at least a couple of days :-D

I'm making cakes for this customer's kid for three years now and each time it's a cartoon character which I need to recreate into a 3D dimension
Here are the cakes I made for her during the years

Ben 10 cake (or in our version Ben 7 )

Sponge Bob cake

Race Cars

Well...I actually feel happy to finally reveal my other side of creativity to you and hope I'll have more chances to share my sweet hobby with you :)

My ABSOLUTE favorite project of ALL...Making a Shabby Chic lampshade out of ALL up-cycled materials!!!

Making a Shabby Chic lampshade
So...what do we have here besides my favorite design style...The use of ALL reclaimed materials and the Hanukkah miracle!!!

In the list of the ingredients were-
1 found little round birdcage
1 found ugly standing ashtray (both were found by my "scavenger hunter" hubby )
1 white spray I got from my daddy's work (not recycled, but at least not bought anyway)
1 silk rose flower that I have for years and all these year I don't know what to do with it till now...)
1 roll of dry gypsum for making the cast (leftover from the belly-cast I made 4 years ago for my pregnant belly during my first pregnancy)
1 handmade miniature mannequin stuffed with leftover fabric scraps I had previously make
1 long Hanukkah Holiday (had to occupy my 3.5 yr. old princess- she helped me soak the gypsum in water bath)
1 talented electrician -my BELOVED husband who made all the electrical work for my lampshade
Total of 8 little miracles that helped me make it happen and here you go-
one STUNNING Shabby Chic lampshade was born

Here is the making of process...

and the final result...LOVE...LOVE...LOVE it!!!!!

Counting sheep

A few month back in a giveaway thrown by the very talented movezerb ,I had win some fabulous prints from her wonderful shop

Of course I had the freedom to choose which ever print/card I like and these beauties were my choices

The pirate's gospel - Postcard

A few days ago I finally come to make a frame for one of my favorite prints from the bunch -the "Counting sheeps" one ,or as we call it " The Sleep Fairy"
I LOVED making this frame!!!

It was made out of left overs from a wood panels I cut for my silk screen frames.
I already made a couple of frames this way (see my frames for Sabbio's and munieca's artworks) ,but this time I had a little problem...I had only cut outs for 3 1/2 sides of the frame and some small bits and pieces I had to glue together to form the forth panel ...
But,although the frame is all patched out, let me tap on my back while saying this about my own work-the end result turned out to be plain GORGEOUS!!!

I'll let you judge by yourself

*curious about what is written on the little tag that hangs from the twig?
No need to wonder anymore... it simply says in Hebrew "sleep tight,my beauty"
(this lovely framed art postcard is proudly took it's place on the wall above my daughter's bed-that's why we call it the "Sleep Fairy" :)

And now meet movezerb, the talented illustrator of these amazing works-

"... she had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on the common way..."
(Alice in Wonderland - Lewis Carroll)

That quote is totally me,says Elodie !
" I'd love to live in dreams, in weird worlds, with strange and exciting things or people to meet around every corner... I believe my part of childhood is still in me, and I like it" !

"I've been drawing from the very first time I could handle a pencil. I love the idea that everything is possible when I draw, anything I think about, I imagine can come to life on paper".

"I'm currently dedicating my time to childlike illustration and crafts I make from it. I like wandering, online or not, to find inspiration, funny ideas or strange oddities..."
***
Dear friend ,as I've said in the beginning of my post, I LOVE your wonderful work and wish you to keep dreaming and soak inspiration from all the weird and strange our little world can offer you!
And I from my end, will happily keep looking and adoring your out-of-the-way creations

It is made of 66! drilled cents and dimes (thanks to my beloved daddy who made all the dirty drilling work for me) and decorated in the center with a bead embroidered cabochons

Soon to be an owl purse-stay tuned

I saw this gorgeous owl purse on the web and immediately wanted to make one for myself
It took me about 4!!! days to finish the bead embroidery for the head part of the purse only, but I'm really satisfied by the result and very inspired to keep on working on this new creation

Here are some photos of this new project as it gos

This is how it all starts...

and here is the finished head

All the beads are reclaimed and include
  • Ambers chips I got from my aunt as a necklace (not a necklace no more lol)
  • Vintage Chez polished glass beads (ones were my mom's necklace-second not anymore)
  • Pieces from a vintage broken earrings I bought on the flea market
  • Wood beads and Buddha center from Thailand (used to be my hubbies necklace)
  • Glass cabochons which are now the eyes of the owl, were previously used by me and my husband to decorate our wedding invitations and as the centers of the tables on our wedding day
  • The plastic bead that is the owl's nose now ,ones decorated my flip flops :)
  • and... the lot of seed beads I used for the embroidery were rescued by my hubby from a terrible waist- all were found stashed in a box outside the dumpster

Now, all which left to do is cut the pattern I created for the body of the owl and drill about 100 holes in hundreds of Mexico cent coins left from our recent journey to America, to complete the decoration of the owl
Will surely be a continue for the body of the owl and some photos of the finished purse...So as my title reads-Stay Tuned!!!

So...What am I up to these last couple of days...

After a very "dry" month sells wise,I finally had a truly busy weekend -lots of new sells knocked on my little shoppie's doorway -Yey!!!

Here are some pics of my latest creations

Alice in Wonderland Tee shirt

Hand sewn and screen-printed by yours truly ,with a lovely artwork by Minasmoke

A "Team Thealey" custom designed T-shirts,hand screen-printed

-The design has a really interesting concept I don't understand the meaning of
(maybe a privet joke between two lovers) ,but even though it will remain a mystery to me why the dinosaur is leashing his little bunny friend and why the whole deal is closed for 150 years...! ,it was a true pleasure designing the graphic and printing this funny piece

Just hope that the guy who is going to receive it, will love it as much as my customer and obviously his loving girlfriend does

His

and
Hers

I also have an order for my famous LO VE his and hers T-shirts on the way

though it's on hold ,since I yet to receive the information needed to print these beauties (sizes and colors). But I sure both will find their way into the loving hands of their rightful owners pretty soon :)

And the freshest order is yet another custom designed T-shirt which I need to start working on ASAP ,and the sooner the better :)
Meanwhile,I can show you only the mock up of the design and as soon as I'll make the actual screen and print it,I'll post an update for your viewing pleasure with the story behind the graphic

-There always is an interesting story behind a custom designed T-shirt :)
