I'm very flattered, but I don't want to talk about myself...I do want to talk about the curator of this vintage flair inspired treasury -yalipaz

Here are just a small batch of my favorites-

So who is this talented person...Here is a brief BIO -

"My name is Yali. I am a wife, a stay at home mom and a full time artist".

"Crafting my art comes from trying to make it of a high standard each time and keeping it as similar as can be to the images that turn up in my mind.
Never seriously studied and always wanted to be really free with my art and not have rules to restrict me".

"Hope my art will make you smile".

No Yali...It makes me drool :-D

If I could have,I would feature each and everyone of YaliPaz brooches ...They are so gorgeous I can't stop admiring them all!
Obviously ,these were only a small selection of beautiful wearable works of art and for my opinion, you just MUST check out the shop and keep browsing and drooling like I do right now ...

I also do henna art, drawing, painting, collage, fabric art, crochet, pottery and more. Both myself and my husband are currently creating art that is green or "upcycled", we both love the challenge of finding things to reuse in our artwork".

"My husband and I live in a renovated old farm house in the country near the Mississippi River. It is a beautiful area with gorgeous bluffs and woods along the river. This area has attracted many artists and nature lovers".

"This spring we will start working on our barn. We are going to turn it into studio space for artists, along with a gallery and class room space too"

Some new handmade frames for my art postcard collection

The pirate's gospel by movezerb finally got it's new frame with some help from my new friend -the Silhouette cutter machine

This frame was hand painted according to the style of the artwork and then for that extra touch,I added some vinyl trees :)

One more beauty by movezerb the "Critters" - Mini print got a FABULOUS find-an old broken frame my hubby found thrown away near the garbage...which was fixed, matted and decorated with a fuzzy vinyl forest green inner frame and a vinyl tree and flying birds silhouette

And here is a lovely "Seduction" postcard by HidenSeek which was framed in a simple IKEA frame pained in lovely pale blue pearl acrylic paint and when dried I drew some tree picks using water colors to continue the trees pictured in the postcard

The whole forest themed bunch having fun while decorating the wall in Sierra's room

And how about a little peak to some more of the fantastic works by HidenSeek?!
Art of fairytales and dark forest creatures

I felt I must share this not only because I adore Hidden Eloise's works, but also because she's having a huge sell in her shop!!! So enjoy my finds and don't miss the FESTIVE UP TO 30% OFF SALE she's currently offering ...

All shoes are like my ever smiling red lustre mary janes that made me want to never grow up.....
..and all fingers are up to 4 in each hand, exactly as how I always used to miss 1 or 2 of them while counting...
There's a seven year old inside me that never grew up and takes over ....she makes me relive my childhood by playing the game of Hide n Seek".

Dry Poinintmaking on Perspex - Introduction : minu - Making Nice Stu...

While searching on etsy for a cute and primitive looking fox illustration, I stumbled upon the loveliest prints by minu

Artwork, Limited Edition Prints and Plush Creatures

The printing technique was described as "Drypoint Etching"
I've never heard of it before and immediately decided to check what it's all about...
While browsing the web,I found this great written tutorial followed by a video explaining this lovely technique

Since I love learning new stuff and perspex plates are a really easy to find (at my daddy's place of work :-D ) I'm seriously thinking of trying this out ...
Maybe you'd like to do the same,so here are the videos made by minu herself
(studying from the best is the best :)

3rd part

Looks pretty COOL!!!!!!

and now.....Meet the artist-
Originating in Germany, minu arrived in Wellington, New Zealand, in late 2006 and stayed. With a background in commercial design and architecture, minu now works as an independent illustrator, toymaker and artist. Her artwork ranges from traditional printmaking to mixed media and textile art. She is selling her artwork, limited edition prints and plush objects in selected shops and online.

Minu is passionate about the idea of non-definitive storytelling, not focused on the narrative, but depicting the non-textual matter. Her creations form archetypal characters and scenes. Her illustrations are snapshots of strange and magical stories, triggering shared memories, handing the handing the story back to the viewer, for him or her to complete the tale...

Though not addressed to children, her artwork is naive and figurative. Her characters are based on traditional archetypes like the unwilling (grumpy) and lonely hero, the companion on a journey, dangers and shadows of the past, present and future. Her creations often shift their shapes, wearing various skins or living in symbioses with others beings. They are in transition between stagnation and change.

Even though her characters are naive, melancholic, they emit something strangely positive and uplifting. Her compositions are based on simplicity, leaving wide open spaces.

The label Minu was formally called 3poppies. In January 2008 the name changed to minu.
